I'm cutting the cable this month

    Or the satellite. I have Dish Network. Tired of paying for a bunch of stuff I never watch or use, like Sirius Radio. Bill keeps going up, its now up to 150 month.

    I bought a Roku Streaming Stick. I have a good broadband cable ISP. Got a good router with up to date Wifi.

    Been trying it out and I get no buffering anywhere in the house.

    Using OTA for local channels, but will eventually add a Tablo OTA DVR. Connect a good antenna to the Tablo, then it connects to your router, and sends local TV stations to your Roku or Amazon Fire Stick on any TV. Add an external hard drive to the Tablo, and can be used to record.

    Got a free month of Sling with my Roku, and Sling is good. But I'm going with DirectTV Now, it has the most networks Mrs Chaw and I watch, especially Mrs Chaw, she's the TV viewer. Gonna call Dish this week and tell them goodbye. I've compared Sling with YouTube TV, Play Station Vue, and DirectTV Now wins for me. But there's no contracts and I can switch around every month, if I wish. I may end up trying them all.

    I got the free week of My Outdoor TV , and its good. Has a huge archive of past shows. But its over priced at $10 month. I'd pay $5 , maybe. Waaayy more hunting than I care about.

    After paying for the equipment, my cost will be under $50 month. And I won't be missing anything, I think. IDK what football season will be like. I'll cross that bridge, when I get there.
