Classic and Elite tournies...

The Bassmaster's Classic, and Elite Tournament dates have been changed. More or less swapping dates.

Classic being moved from late march to June, and the Elites being moved from June to late March.

What the?

The Classic this year is to be held at Lake Ray Roberts, north of Denton, TX. with the weigh in, and Expo in Ft. Worth. I don't know the exact locations of those events, but could easily be a 50 or 60 mile drive between the launch site, and the weigh in site.

I hope for their sake they have more post launch activities for the peanut gallery at the site then they had for the classic here on Lake Conroe a few years back. The 100+ mile round trip just to see the launch proved to be hardly worth it, and not one I would likely do again without some assurance there was something to look at, and/or do post launch. If I remember correctly, Basscat was about the only folks who actually had something going on at the site post launch.

I'm thinking also that some sort of live telecast event at the launch site of the weigh in might help to keep some folks around... to spend money... benefitting the Denton area, as opposed to sending it all back to Ft. Worth. I'm pretty sure them folks up around Denton could use the money. It might also help to provide for social distancing, while keeping the attendance numbers up overall.
