A fishing post!

    Not like I've been able to get on in a while, but I did actually get to do a little bit of fishing over the weekend. :cool: Water temps for the river have been hovering in the 48°-52° mark for a bit and it's got the smallmouth looking for food. A crank and pause retrieve was working with small crankbaits, but a jerkbait was the real deal for consistent bites. Was catching white bass, largemouth, smallmouth and even a huge drum, which was an unexpected catch. The downfall to the whole experience was that after 40 years of fishing I finally got the dreaded "hook buried in the hand" disease. Had a small white bass shake off as I lifted him in the boat and he loaded up the bait and launched two barbs into my palm at the base of my thumb. One barb came out easily, the other I had to cut off and work the hook out with pliers. Had to call it a day and go home after that one....
