Got out to the river yesterday for what could be the last trip of the season. Took my dad and my sister out since the weather was decent. Was sunny, mid 40s and a slight breeze when we left the dock. Water temp was 48°, which wasn't too bad. Started with some cranks, traps and jerkbaits. First few hours went without a single bump. Finally found a nice little chunk rock shoreline that started producing a few largemouth. Ended the day with quite a few bass, including one nice smallie. High temps for the weekend are looking grim so I'm probably done now. The only downside to the day was one of my good custom rods and a Chronarch sinking out of site in 10' of cold murky water. Just a little cold-handed fumble on my dad's part. Ooops, time to build another one........
