Retired Feds and Medicare part B

    If you have FEHB in retirement, you probably do not need Medicare part B. If your plan covers the doctors portion, you can cancel part B. Neither Social Security nor your health plan will tell you this up front. You need the knowledge(which I am supplying) to go to your plan and ask them questions. Medicare part B is about $1000-1500/ year. You can contact Social Security and cancel the part B. Now, the reason you can do this: YOU PAY THE SAME RATE IN RETIREMENT AS YOU DID WHEN WORKING. BECAUSE OF THIS, YOU GET THE EXACT SAME BENEFITS AS WORKING PEOPLE IN THE PLAN.
