shallow grass baits

    our lake is grassy and 10 foot average depth. I've tried docks, points, grass islands of various forms,thrown everything I can think of.Of the locals I do better than most but a 4 hour trip with 3 or 4 fish sucks as far as I'm concerned.I've been to weigh ins and the winner is whoever can catch 1 big fish, other wise their all 1 or 2 pounds:doh:I made a living with a spook but it doesn't work on this lake. The same with a spinnerbait. You would be amazed:dejection:I'm a run and gun guy and have to learn to bring a cribbage board or chess board for those times I throw soft plastics I guess. To start a fishing thread what would you try and what would you look for here ? 10 years ago you could catch numbers and I caught my 13 pounder. But with the constant ( daily ) use of the harvestors changing the lake make up the fish have hiding spots I and nobody else can find. I also believe the harvestors lose some of the muck and grass to the bottom and in turn it depletes the water of oxygen:thinking:
