A differant look at barrel life.

    For chrome or nitrate 5.56 barrel. :thinking: :thinking:

    Assume muzzle velocity in round numbers is 3000 fps. Since you started a 0 fps, your average, assuming constant acceleration, was 1,500 fps. For a 16" bbl or 1.33 ft, that gives a barrel residence time of 1.33/1500 = .0009 sec. Call it 1 millisecond.

    20,000 rounds = 20 seconds of barrel life.

    Some folk have way too much time on their hands. :Rolling: :Rolling:
