about the pro's putting sponsor's gear on deck and fishing something else. Some of the older pros were notorious in just showing sponsor's gear. Roland was one of the worst. He would put sponsor's lures on his rods just before he would come to the scales. Of course, THAT is what he caught his bass with. I oftened wondered why the top pros wouldn't go with the sponsor whose equipment they actually used. With arthritis throughout my body and my hands always aching, I sometimes go back to my old round side baitcasters to relieve the pressure. They are still smooth and work great even if they are 20+ yrs. old. A couple of my heavy rods are pool cues and one is a telephone pole. Curt's right about ripping their face off. We all like to have new toys. If you folks bled during this recession along with me, maybe the old gear is good enough. I'm glad someone got a great deal on that reel.
