Army Coffee

This is how we did it in Nam. My group wore soft caps even in combat. One guy wore a helmut so we could shave and make coffee and carried a clean handkerchief. Here goes.

Army Coffee: Heat up a canteen's worth of water in the steel helmut; pour in coffee grounds and heat until it smells good; pour the coffee thru the clesn handkerchief and into your trail cup. It was probably terrible coffee but it tasted great in the field. A canteen's worth of coffee was enough to give everyone in the squad a jolt.
