I've been fishing for a week now. The fishing has been very good, particularly for large bass. The holiday and a big cold front finally slowed things down. Last week I caught several big bass. One bass about 6 lbs., one weighed 6.4 lbs. and the last was 7.4 lbs. I don't carry a camera but a local guy fished with me when I caught the 7.4 lb. and he had a camera with him. As soon as he sends me the picture I will get Joey to post it.
Almost all of the very large bass I catch put up little fight. There is usually a weight on the line and you just pull them in. The 7.4 pounder hit one of Joey's 3/4 oz. football head jigs in Whiskey color like a freight train before it reached the bottom and pulled hard. Seldom has that happenned to me. All fish were released. A pro that lives in my complex caught a 9+ lb. in practice on a deep drop a 35 ft. The thermocline is at 23 ft. He was using a 12 in. grub I had given him. I only have about a dozen of my grubs left and will not make any more so he is out of luck for a replacement if he loses it.

By the way, the 225 Optimax only used 15 gal of gas all week. My old carburated Yamaha would have used about 25 gal. I really like the Puma. 3 ft. waves and I feel like I am riding on a pillow.
