Lost a nice one this morning

    Didnt have a lot of time to fish b/c of stuff around the house today, but just needed to wet a line a lil bit. Didnt take the boat, just stayed on the shore line. Armed with a scrounger/fluke combo. Hit the first pond I was going to, caught one small dink with not even another sniff. Decided to ride over to the CT river where I know there is some shore access. Started with a crankbait, not takers, too much grass for the crank, so I put the scrounger/fluke back on. Standing on a rock, incoming tide, retrieving the scrounger at a rather quick pace, rod LOADS up. Nice fish on, get him close enough to see, good 3.5-4lbs, hop off the rock to land the fish and maybe a pict of him and "Damn, his off" oh well. Continue fishing for another 45 mins, one more small dink about a 1lb, time to go and finish chores. Biggest fish Ive hooked in a long time, felt good to have that pull again. Oh well, next time.
