St. Louis is an old French settlement from the 1700's. The Soulard area in south St. Louis has a lot of historic homes and is where the Mardi Gras takes place. Lots of Cajun and Creole style restaurants and food along with a few strictly country French places. Lots of parades, food, parties take place and it is second only to New Orleans. This is the first time I've missed Mardi Gras since retirement. I am going to make gumbo, jambalaya and frog legs for the wife and a few friends. Going to be hard to beat the jambalaya that Alan showed us. (I gigged the frogs last season and they were huge.)
