I set some snares down in the Meramec river bottom land yesterday. A pretty good little hike between snares. I had set 5 snares and got 3 wabbits and a skunk. I dispatched the skunk with my .380 snake killer and field cleaned the rabbits. Think I will fry 1 of them with garlic and onions and make rabbitt stew with the others. Total cost of the hunt was 25 cents for the string and 60 cents for the .380 round. A good way to get in the field and get'um the old fashioned way.

For field dressing small game I use a very old machete and 3.5 in. double edge Gerber lockblade. I carry pliiers just in case but seldom need them. I carry everything I need for survival on a web belt. Most everything will fit in old M-14 ammo pouches. I always have the web belt at home and my bug-out bag in the car.
