I was talking with a neighbor who coaches PeeWee football for his son's team. His son(still in grade school) asked him why he didn't look for ways to help his team like Coach Belichick does. He had to explain about playing fair to know who truly had the best team. Somehow, I don't think he should have to answer or explain to his child about competetion and fairness in any game. That is something that should be ingrained in competitive sports. The NFL doesn't seem to understand that even small children watch thier games and it influences thier lives. Baseball umpires watch for rules being broken and toss offenders from the game. Tennis polices thier sport as do many other sports.
My take: the NFL is a business run by some of the richest people in the country to make more money. The owners don't care about the current players, retired players, dementia, or the cities that have teams. They constantly need new and better stadiums. Not because the current stadium can't be used but because another owner built a stadium bigger and better than thiers. Some of the richest people in the country use the threat of moving thier team to get public funding for thier new Taj Mahal. That way, they don't use thier own money. What a racket and owners like "Silent" Stan Kroenke won't even talk about the team with the people who paid money to attend games for a team with 11 consecutive losing seasons.
The truth: the move from St. Louis isn't about the stadium. It is about the team being worth $970 million in St. Louis and $4 billion the day it moves to Los Angeles. It is all about a man worth $5-7 billion dollars being able to say he is worth $ 10 billion dollars.
Sorry guys! The NFL isn't a game, it is a business. PeeWee football is a game.
