LMAO this is a good one. This is from the local newspaper here.

    rename fish "sea kittens."

"PETA believes that if fish were renamed 'sea kittens,' humans would be less likely to hook and maim the animals for sport or to imprison them in tanks," PETA wrote in a press release. "Sea kittens are intelligent, sensitive animals who deserve respect."

PETA claims that fish rub against one another to show affection, grieve when their companions die and develop relationships. In its letter, the group took Merriam-Webster to task for adding "pescatarian" to the dictionary. The word is defined as "one whose diet includes fish but no meat."

PETA executive vice president Tracy Reiman took offense to that, "as if the dead bodies of these unfortunate animals don't even count as flesh." But she suggested the company could make up for things by adopting sea kitten.

"By adding 'sea kitten' to the dictionary as a compassionate alternative to the word 'fish,' Merriam-Webster would help turn the tide of prejudice against sea animals. After all, who could possibly want to put a hook through a sea kitten?" Reiman wrote.

There was no word from Merriam-Webster on its plans.
