What a pain in the azz. Wife has been wanting a new kitchen for quite some time, and frankly, it was needed. I kept telling her what I thought it would entail, but she just couldn't grasp the concept of one project leading right into another. So far I have gutted the ceiling and walls of the kitchen and living room, rewired both rooms and put in new insulation. The drywallers are getting started on that project today. Sat down with the kitchen designer last night and see where the cabinets, countertop and composite sink are coming in just shy of $20k with me doing the cabinet install. Flooring for said rooms and an entryway are in the $3k range without installation in the estimate. Of course this all leads to new kitchen appliances, and living room furniture because apparently you can't put old furniture in a remodeled living room according to the wife. Once this part of the project is finished I still will be left with three rooms that need ceiling re-done with new drywall and another room needing flooring. I'll be lucky if I can scrape up a gallon of gas to go fishing this year.........
