Rising prices, Custom Quality and thoughts

The price of fishing gear is getting out of hand; boat prices and boating supplies also. Why a Little George sells for $3.99 is beyond greed. In 2 yrs. my favorite bait-Zoom finesse worms- have gone from $2.49 to $4.29-and I see no reason for it. I realize the cheaper reels like BPS sells are not as well built but I have never used a reel more than 3 yrs. and they last that long. As for rods, I use BPS Extremes, Pfluger, Quantum Tour Editions, and Loomis. I can't say that the Loomis or Quantum has that much more feel to it than the Extreme to justify the price. Why should I buy mass produced baits when I can buy jigs from Joey and cranks from the custom painters on this site. The quality here is certainly better than mass produced for similar prices.
Joey vs. Strike King: Oscar and the other painters vs. Spro, Luck Craft, etc.--not a contest. I'll tell you current sponsors this and I haven't done this before-- send me your logo for a windscreen- when I switch out rigs I'll display your logo and not expect anything else from you. I only fish an occasional local tourney now so I don't need sponsors. I do spend a hell of an amount of time on the water and am always stopped by folks on the lake for a chat. If you guys can think of something I can do for you, just ask. Only way I can give back for the friendship you folks have shown me.
