I was a little afaid to shoot my new Henry .44 because of the surgury. I thought the action was a little stiff when I first got it so I took it apart and re-oiled the mechanism. Man, is it smooth. The recoil was pretty lite for a .44. I fired 20 rounds of very slow fire and 10 rounds as fast as I could cock the lever, reload and aim. I never put more than 3 rounds in at the range. I really, really like this Henry. It has an extemely loud report which upset the rather large individual in the next stall.
