We all know some collars will crack and break up on our spinnerbaits, leaving them skirtless. Ye h, you can buy more skirts and there are some nice materials for them too. But, with me, if it can be saved before breaking apart, I will. For a few years I have been using small 4" zip ties to save the skirts and they work really well. Anyone ever try that? They work really well and if you are detail oriented like I am, if you put the junction of the zip tie on the bottom, it actually keeps it more weed less thru brush and trees but bumping the junction under the skirt.

Fast forward to this past Monday....I usually use the opaque clear ones for white and light colored spinnerbait skirts and dark ones for dark skirts, even on jigs. Well, I had a dilemma. Deep chartreuse. I didn't want white or dark on it, so, I came up with an idea. I'm sure it's not original, but I took a 4" zip tie and dunked it a jar of Spike It chartreuse color dye. Let sit a few minutes and zipped it on. Wha la!! It's looks great!

Just a friendly tip for all of my blade slingers. :cool-new::Cool_thumbs_up:
