Spinning line

Discussion in 'Talk, Talk (off topic)' started by Just Piddling, Jun 20, 2010.

  1. Like I posted yesterday, my boy needs to practice with a baitcaster more. So for now he is using one of those aggravating piece of junk spinning reels. It kept getting twisted so bad yesterday that Droopy had a spool of Suffix in the boat and we respooled with that thinking that should work good. After a few cast, the twist were back again. I know a lot of it is that he drops the rod on a slack line before the bell flips (what a stupid design, by the way). I remember hearing something about putting the line on in a certain direction. What is the best spinning line and how do you spool it up?

It had to be a communist that invented the spinning reel.:Mad::Mad:

After doing some research, I was close

In 1948, the Mitchell Reel Company of Cluses, France introduced the Mitchell 300 with a design that oriented the face of the spool forward in a permanently fixed position below the fishing rod
