Took my friend for a ride in the wife's Searay for a 45 min ride. Severe thunderstorm pops up so I head for the dock. The engine overheat warning goes off so I shut it down. Engine won't start and the storm is closing. In about 5 min. we will be bouncing off the bluff walls. Pleasure boats are passing us by and will not stop. A tow boat pushing a 150 tons of rock on a barge, stops and throws me a rope. He takes me to the cove but the wind is too strong to dock the boat and he is startinfg to lose control of his barge. I tell him to cut me loose and I anchor in 60 ft. of water. We were able to ride out the thunder storm at anchor. The tow boat dropped off his barge and came back to help. We had to cut the anchor and tied the anchor to a bouy. The tow boat got us into the slip and retieved my anchor. We were very lucky and appreciative of the tow operator's help.

Turns out a plastic ice bag someone had thrown into the water got sucked into the water inlet. The impeller overheated and broke. Only took about 20 min. to replace the anchor. I know this sounds like something that is put on BBC and not Oscar's, but hell, what are friends for.
