Ups and downs of youth sports

I have spent much of my of my time over the last 10 or so years coaching youth sports. I went from football to wrestling and baseball. I know it's not about winning it's about the kids but I have always been competitive and winning makes it a lot more fun. The teams I have been involved with have struggled and had ups and downs. Things have turned the last couple years however. My son made the Cal Ripken allstar team last summer. We went on and played in a summer league and won the Championship then I coached a Fall team and won the regular season and the tournament. We started wrestling season in November and finished this past weekend . This made 6 years are team has went undefeated. We are now 60-0 and 6 straight tournament championships. My son went undefeated for the first time. We dominated almost every weight class. Really amazing when you think about. We have so many kids that want to be involved in this program we had to field a second team this year. Now in a few weeks we will make another trip to the State Championships. Sadly this is my son's last year in this program an will move on to middle school. I have seen a lot of these kids grow and it is really interesting.
