Walmart trip

So I decide to tag along with the wife on a few errands last night and one of the stops was Wally World. She needed to pick up a fax/printer setup for her office at work and a few other supplies for work and home. After finding everything she needed we get to the checkout and she pays cash(from her boss) for the fax. Then pays (with a personal check) for a bunch of party crap for her work. The rest of the stuff we had was all ours, so we try to finish our checkout by writing another personal check. The cashier gets down to the last two items, 2 Visa gift cards, and says they need to be paid for separately from the other items (?) Wife writes a check and cashier then tries to do the gift cards. She has all sorts of trouble trying to make the register work and the line is now backing up pretty good. Calls a manager over and she says that gift cards can only be purchased with cash or credit card. By now the wife is tearing up the check she had started writing and I could see things going south real fast. The manager starts saying that "it's the home office, not us". The wife got right in her face and let her have an earful. Pretty much told her what to do with her gift cards. Why don't they post that kind of info at the card display instead of finding out while trying to check out? It was a fun drive home....:doh:
