    Our local cooling lakes recently opened for the season. These are lakes used to cool the nuclear power generating stations. It's been a long winter and these lakes have water temps in the 70s and 80s already. The problem is that EVERYONE wants to get out there when these places open. I found out that the guy first in line got there at 1:30 in the afternoon THE DAY BEFORE. You had to be there by 4 am if you wanted to be in the first 80 boats. By the time the gate opened, I heard there was a line almost 1 1/2 miles long. When the parking lot gets full they shut the ramp down. If you want to fish you wait for someone to load up and leave. I don't even try to go out there in the first couple of weeks. Would you sit in a line like that?
