You want to read something scarey?

One of my best friends of over 30yrs, proves how uninformed most non gun owners are. I love the guy to death, but he is so far removed from reality about the gun issue, its sickening. I included him in an email I sent out, about the MO DOR sharing a list of C&C permitees, with the MSHP, who then shared that list with a federal fraud investigator from the SSA... after being assured that NO list of this sort would be kept and used. It was the article I posted here a few days ago. Anyway, this is the response I just received from him:

"It appears that many are becoming more and more paranoid and needlessly getting worked up about this issue since many don't feel the FEDs have a right to know who has what weapons. Not to mention the ignored fact that law enforcement agencies routinely SHARE such information for usually specific purposes like the one claimed in this case.
And many are simply ignoring the fact that all agencies involved in this transfer of information were LAW ENFORCEMENT.

Also many appear to be ignoring another fact that Federal law will ALWAYS trump any conceived state law regarding firearms/weapons for obvious, and numerous common sense reasons.

By the way, why do so many feel it is NOT a good idea to use any means necessary to ensure mentally ill people are not allowed to have/legally purchase firearms...??? After all, that's exactly the very clear intention for the transfer of information in this story. Sandy Hook ring a bell...??? This guy was as mentally imbalanced as anyone could possibly imagine and was apparently denied a purchase of a gun once only because of a paper technicality. Then his ding-dong mother began feeding his arsenal and paid the ultimate price as well as 20 children.

This is the next issue that will be pursued by the Feds...checking to see if there are ANY mentally ill living at the same address as those with firearms. ANd I'm absolutely certain most will see obtaining this information as stomping on gun owners right as well, regardless of the very clear and present danger to all of us as we've just seen repeated again.

I am beginning to wonder about the continued paranoia and distrust of large numbers of US citizens, whether justified or not, it's worrisome.
