I bought some great looking 1 oz. spinners from Joey Watts so I thought I would tell you how I use them. DEEEEEP!

    1) Around deep shad schools: I'm trying for reaction bites from bass feeding on the schools. I cast the lure, count it down to the activity level and slow roll it back. I do not use a trailer but do use a trailer hook.

    2) Bluff and Bluff ends: Pretty much same as above. I parallel the bluff, start casting close to the bluff wall and gradually cast farther from the wall until I contact bass.

    3) Humps and other deep structure: The spinner is a great bait for fishing deep humps. I will cast the bait past the hump as far as I can. I want to contact the hump somewhere on the retrieve. If I haven't caught a bass but think they are there, I will change to a much smaller blade to give a different look, speed up the lure and hope for a reaction bite.

I hope to use these towards the end of next week on a few humps that top out at 30 ft. The bass are post spawn now at LOZ and at least some will have moved offshore. Besides, the large tourney fields the next 3 weeks will still be fishing shallow.
