There were 3 offshore boats racing at dawn on LOZ. A couple of years ago I marked 2 rock outcrops that were 1 mile apart on the other side of the lake. The boats made 4 runs, 2 in each direction. The boats were evenly matched but the same boat won all four times. I used the stopwatch on my phone and timed the leading boat between the outcrops. The math was easy. Avg. run was just over 175 mph. Only time they can race is at dawn when no boats are out and the waves are down. It takes them over 1 mile to stop the boat. I took pictures but they didn't come out well in the low light. LOZ is an unrestricted lake for boat size and horsespower.
