$80 Billion in food stamps and rising. Ever wonder why?

    Last year the federal government spent $80 billion on SNAP. There are 48 million people receiving benefits under SNAP. That is more than double the amount of recipients from 10 years ago. Ever wonder why that figure keeps rising? It's because of Cloward-Piven. Ever hear of them? Cloward and Piven were two professors from Columbia University in the '60's who devised a strategy to flood the welfare system and create a "guaranteed annual income " by using a "redistribution of income". As a side benefit they said it would also garner support for the Democratic Party who proposed it.

    Recently, I happened upon the article they wrote for The Nation back in 1966. It was very interesting.
