Big Box Sporting Goods Stores

I went today to pick up a new scope for a .17HMR. I went to several Mon and Pop shops first, but they did't have what I wanted so I went to Gander ( I knew not to go). They had the scope I wanted, but I had to take a number. I got #47 and the wall counter was on 36. Well after about an hour of watching two sales people trying to sell a shotgun and a pistol I gave up. The manager asked me on the way out if I found everything, I told him I did but IMO he was a lousy manager and told him with people out of work you have two people working the entire firearms section and both of them didn't know **** about what they were selling. I leave and that was that.

Well I still needed the scope so I go to t new store in Burlington called Dunham's Sports. It's is suppose to be a 88,000 sq ft we have it all store. Well they had the scope. It took 30 minutes for someone to get it for me. Three people working with one guy trying to buy an AR15. Another 10 minutes go by. I got someone to help me and he was very friendly, just as he opened the case his raido goes off for him to come help the manager with a pallett in the back. So off he goes. Another person comes over and hands me the scope 10 minutes later. Got to the cashier and they only had one with a line waiting to pay. He was new and was having proplems, but he was trying. Paid and left.

If I did not need this scope for tomorrow I would have just ordered on line and kept my BP down.

I hate BIG BOX Stores, Yep even Ass Pro.
