I was reading a article in the local paper yesterday that got me thinking. Once again our school systems is doing things that don't make since. They are bringing back some people that retired last year to fill vacant postions. Now these are not teacher or principal openings these are director head of type jobs. Also keep in mind these people retired with 100k+ year jobs so these are not small positions. My point is why do we feel like we have to have this ladder of authority that ends with some one at the top that is just a figure head that really does nothing. What happened to a supervisor and a worker. Now it seems there has to be this pecking order and I see it all around us. I have always had more respect for a boss or leader that was just that a leader. Some one who went out and did the same thing he asked his people to do get dirty. I don't understand having someone in a postion to simply attend board meetings.

Another example and this one sorta pisses me off. I am a member of the local YMCA same thing applies here every time you go there they are having some type of meeting around there big table. One of the people is the fitness director. She has a office in the weight room but here is the thing I have never seen her out on the floor working with a member or giving advice. In fact in the years I have been going there I don't think she has ever even said hello to but every time there is a meeting there she is proudly setting at her spot at the table.

I guess it is just a further representation of our goverment and what we have become. Lets meet and then meet again to talk about what we meet about the first time then schedule a meeting to decide who will take care of what we discussed in the meeting only to assign to someone so they can deligate to some one else
