Decent Day

    Had a pretty good day on the water. Lake is a lot lower than I expected with high winds and a big storm blowing in. Only got to fish for about 5 hours. Put a jig in my hand and just went to pitching and flipping. I caught 5 and the boy fishing with me caught 2. All were 2 pound fish except this big spawned out female. Pitched my little texas craw jig up on a cypress tree and it never hit bottom. When I went to pick the jig up, was 5' from where it hit the water, Gotta love those kind of bites and just reel down and set the hook. Knew I had a pretty good when I bowed up on her. Was a little over 20" and if I would have caught her a week or two ago. Would have weighed 6 or so pounds. She was a little on the thin side though and might have weighed a solid 5 pounds.
