I may have found a new fishing hole!

The tri-county canal runs out of lake
Lake McConaughy and is used for irrigation until it fills lake Maloney, then dumps into the south plate river some 20mi from Maloney. The best part is that it runs right past my work and dumps into the river about a half mile from my work! I guess it's full of fish as the river isn't more than a huge dry bed with a few shallow streams running through it. A guy was showing me pics of fish that he catches on his dinner break (lol). In one dinner hour or so (we're not too worried about time I guess), he caught about a dozen smallmouth, some in the 3-4# range and had pics to prove it. I've decided that I don't really need to eat anymore!
