Romney's Speech

I'll have to vote for him but I was disappointed. His lack of knowledge on foreign affairs scares me. I don't understand his reliance on small business jump starting the economy. Also, does this guy ever smile? Can we switch roles and the VP candidate take the top job?

1) Saying he would stop the Iranian nuclear program. The only way to take out the program is with nukes. The last wars have chewed up our military supplies and we have to rebuild. You can't take the facilities out with conventional shock and awe. This was a stupid statement to make.

2) Israel HAS our backing as always. Diplomacy dictates what is said by any sitting president. If Israel were attacked or at war, they would have our support. If Israel attacks the Iranian facilities, they will have had our help.

3) The countries moving forward with their economy are doing it with heavy industry. They had a small business mentality and it didn't work. We need to go back to manufacturing to create jobs. Building a steel mill creates thousands of GOOD paying jobs. Small business creates small amounts of jobs and the pay is historically lower than heavy industry. Look at China, India, Brazil grow as they build manufacturing plants and create jobs.

Selling Kool-aid to the masses isn't going to get him elected. He needs to step up with real answers to real problems or Obama will beat him. Remember, a sitting president has a built in advantage. He controls the economy and can have Bernake free up funding and interest rates before the election.

The world economy is getting worse, not better. This affects our own recovery. It's hard to stimulate your economy if there is nobody to buy your products. His speech last night had some good points. Now, he has but a short time to generate the support he needs. JMO
