Twin tail grubs

So started using some twin tail grubs on a jig head the other day, whats the preferred method of retrieve, hopping, dragging, swimming, etc? Yes I know, let the fish tell me, but is there a retrieve that works better than others? And yes I did catch a few fish on the grub, thanks AC.
