Well, that was interesting...

A few minutes ago there were what sounded like (I couldn't tell for sure because Houston is overcast today), but sounded like five F-16 Falcons under full after burner thrust blew out of Ellington Field which is a few miles southwest of me. They did a U-turn pretty much right over the top of my house, and headed south, and then what sounded like turned east. I could still hear them under full thrust several minutes later, burnin' down the house, headed somewhere. Wherever they were going, they were in a hurry... and fuel was not an issue.

In the last 19 years I have only ever seen that three time.

1. 9/11/2001
2. A year or so ago. I never did hear what that was about.
3. Today. Probably won't hear what that was about either, unless it turns out to be something we all hear about, but I bet it wasn't/isn't COVID-19 related.

I tell ya', you'ld be hard pressed to hear something more impressive than a flight of F-16's burning off right over your house.

Well, okay... I had to stop typing this and step outside to see what turned out to be an RB-57 Canberra flying into Ellington. I doubt the two incidents are related, but who knows. And it ain't everyday you get to see an RB-57.
