Whoo hoo I caught fish

Decided to wade a lil bit in the CT River, tubes in hand off I go. Hit it around 9:15, hit first fish, nothing big maybe a 1lb smallie on the tube. Moving down the shoreline I spy with my lil eye a fish lounging in the grass, hmm it appears to be a pike, pitch the tube to it, nothing, nada, zilch. Eventually he lazily swims off. I make another cast out past the edge of the grass and well I snagged my first pike, literally. Hooked it in the rear dorsal fin. This fish had absolutely no fight in him, he just laid there while I reeled him in and unhooked him. If you look at the pict you can see the 4" tube still in his fin.



One more smallie from there and I decide to head over to another area for a bit I had been wanting to try.

Walking the shoreline I see tons of fish, but not many takers. Finally have my first smallie from there. Spend couple hours fishing up and down the shore line, total caught from here was 6-7 smallies up to maybe 1.5 lbs and 2 largies maybe a pound.
