Anyone have an idea on the cost of replacing a water pump.

    Looks like the water pump on my 02 duramax is leaking. Ideas on cost to replace it? Part is like 150 .00 but I keep hearing costs of 1000.00 to replace it from buddies. Anyone know anything? What's the deal??
