How long do you stay with a bait ?

Had not been to my local lake in a couple weeks and I got there yesterday, and it had changed. We've not had a lot of rain, and it cleared considerably. Water was no longer brown and instead of 6" visibility, it had 2 foot.

So every rod I had rigged was wrong. And I was no longer sure of the banks I was fishin and the depth the fish would be holding.

So I head down the bank fishin with a buzzbait, cuz I figure it would draw a bite no matter the depth. I would throw to the bank and then out away from the bank. And nada, zip , zilch for the first 10 to 15 minutes .............. so how long do you stay with it ?

I have a real hard time putting a rod down and pickin up one rigged with another bait, and its almost impossible for me to stop fishing and sit down in the boat and tie on something completely different or even dig another rod out of the rod box.

I caught some dinks yesterday, some that were schooling and surfacing well off the bank. Think I even found some of those fish on my old black and white electronics at about 10 foot, but had no idea how to fish for them.

But I could not find the larger fish.
