Soo, I back boat in water and battery won't turn over the motor

    Went to the lake this morning and my fishin never got started.

    When I start my Yamaha V-Max carbed 150, I tilt the motor all the way down, service people told me it helped get gas in the carbs.

    I still had enough battery to raise the motor to pull the trailer back up in the lot, but I'm thinkin ......... what to do if I didn't ? My best guess would be to disconnect the cables from the starting battery and connect to a trolling battery. But if ya do that, do you disconnect the 24 V trolling motor connections ? Or can you just go directly to the poles on one battery ?

    Same question if I use jumper cables ?

    That crankin battery was 7 years old, it was BPS 800 cranking amp battery. I just bought an Everstart 650 amp battery to replace it this morning. That should be plenty, I would think.
