Thoughts on this site and what we were doing

Way back originally this site was to give all those left from another forum a place to gather. After we bought it from the repossessed ownership, the masses of controversial gatherers revolted in riot style and exited. Not without hampering the future of this site and forcing many to leave from their insistent frustrations.

Move forward a few years and we bought this site to allow that platform to continue, without the language and expletives. Though acting like civil adults. Move past the Bass Fishing Home Page demise and it was a place for those morning coffee folks to visit and continue. We hoped that would continue to grow it.

Today that’s just not so. Your a GREAT bunch on OutKast and you’ve all continued to enjoy the sessions posted here. We had thoughts that we would see younger milenials join as they changed their ways and settled in. That hasn’t happened.

Thoughts originally were to give BFL, Bass Champs, ABT, FOMNTT, CTC, OMTTand other organizations a place to share their finishes. Telling stories unprinted and unpublished on how John Doe won an event on Lake Z? A place where those details existed and something that was never going to be learned otherwise. BFL jumped that thought recently and finally started telling that story after a decade of ignoring the reason they exist. BFL is their core and now they are again recognizing that core in media.

We have thought long and hard about what is happening to Forums. With the Bass Cat Owners forums we have excellent success in our base Still with thousands of views daily. Though we have been unable to capture that enthusiasm here. Bass Boat Central, Bass Resource (novice) and our Owners Forums are about the only progressive bass fishing forums remaining today. Even Walleye Central (.com) is a pittance of their one time notoriety. And we monitor dozens of angling and boating forums. Scream and Fly is another example of a slowly sliding user pattern as their base changes.

We don’t know the future for OutKast? We don’t know what it morphs to? Though we are remaining here knocking Russian bots off the posts and continuing to lurk in the shadows and see what you guys have to say. Maybe in a few months this forum will grow? Though for now we’ve restructured it twice and it just sits dormant and existing.

We just wanted those of you here to know we see your posts and understand your thoughts that you want to see this board be more. We thought those frustrated elsewhere would migrate to an open format from other boards without excess policing. Apparently it has not happened and we don’t think it’s an option or view issue, just is what it is like the demise of NCBF out west. It’s a Sign of the times.
