We had unusual March weather

    It was a record warm Feb , and we only one night of sub-freezing temps in March. It got down to 29* at my house. I cudda planted my tomatoes first of March.

    And our water temps reflected that, we normally get down to average in low to mid 40 water temp, a real cold winter will get us to below 40. We were pretty much normal to start the year, and then water temps rose but have leveled off the past two or three weeks and are now pretty much normal for this time of year .

    My last fishin trip, I caught a couple bit larger females with eggs, in shallow water. As far as I can tell, they did not react to the above normal temps early in March.

    This is from a local lake, these temps generally agree with what I see on the water
